As of January 2019 from Mike M, our AT&T company account rep (Client Solutions Executive)

  • You can add a new line of service from any provider and bring a number in (this is adding a new line of service) - new lines have costs every month on top of other features
  • You can transfer in T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint and some other smaller carriers in on top of an existing AT&T number (this is called a port overlay) - need an open/unassigned line available to port on top.
  • You cannot transfer in an AT&T, Tracfone, Cricket or Consumer cellular in on top of an existing AT&T number as they are essentially AT&T
    • You would have to add a line of service in this situation (this is called a Transfer of billing responsibility or we say TOBR)
