In meetings and webinar it is sometimes necessary to provide a high quality audio setting rather than computer microphone/speakers.

Here is how to do that:

  • You must be and admin user (host or co-host)
  • Install a good PC video player (VLC Player works well)
  • Start the meeting/webinar and go to the audio settings and click to enable original sound
  • This enables but does not start original (pc) sound.
  • When in the meeting/webinar
  • Go to VLC and find the video file and queue it up in full screen paused at the beginning but don't start it
  • Alt-Tab to Zoom (find it in open windows)

  • Mute all participants (as this original sound is notorious for echoes if anybody else makes sounds)
  • Click the zoom screen option in upper right of live window 'Turn Original Sound On'
  • Start 'Share' and pick the VLC player from the windows offered to share and click Share
  • Optimize for full screen if not already so
  • Click in the VLC window to change computer focus
  • Start video (this can be done easily with the sound bar if you have paused it at beginning)
  • When video is done, click 'stop share'
  • Return to the zoom window and click 'Turn Original Sound Off'
  • Go back to the player and stop video as needed (this may distract you but will not be on others zoom)
