It's springtime!
With a record snowpack in the mountains and bears waking up that means they
will be coming lower to look for food
Already had sighting last night at eastview and a probable sighting at hobbit
house last few nights.
All garbage in outlying houses (pines, lionhedge, willows, strawbale and eastview ) should not be stored outside. Bring all garbage to bear proof dumpsters on main campus.
As a community each of us needs to insure the latches are secured on all the openings of the bear proof dumpsters.
Guest services needs to inform our guests and make sure welcome talks go over bear protocol (wildlife interaction should be a standard discussion in all welcome talks )
Do not engage a bear if one is spotted. Don't take pictures. Although they are cute they are a wild animal. If one is spotted, contact Bob Ewing or me and we will handle it.
Let's help keep Bears wild and safe by doing all we can to eliminate human food sources from their diets.
